The Greatest Love Story The World Has Ever Known

Image
"Did my heart love till now? Foreswear its sight. For I never saw true beauty 'til this night." "O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?" "It is the east, and Juliet is the sun" And so their love is sworn. No kisses crossed their lips last night, that would have been far too vivid to include into one of the greatest love stories of all time.  The evening was filled with song and dance and a few of Shakespeare's original lines thrown in, with the most dramatic scene playing out to the consternation of the kids in the audience. Death, that hath sucked the honey of they breath, hath had no power yet upon thy beauty. Romeo finds his beloved dead in the Capulet tomb, their love forsaken and without the Friar's message reaching him Romeo lifts the poison to his lips and drinks to lay down next to his Juliet and die. Heartbroken.  A gasp escapes the lips of the young audience (this is Romeo and Juliet 4 Kids) and a li...

James, so we meet again!

Image
James has been a part of our family now for many years. We love James, we talk about him often and listen to his music all the time. He is not understandably everyone's cup of tea, he's not exactly Bond (who of us are perfect anyway) but that raspy voice makes him a necessary habit in the evenings.  His name is Blunt,  James Blunt . James initially joined our family after his first album, it was played consistently over the next couple of weeks and sung endlessly in the shower or car.  Six months later Sean was invited to his first birthday party in Grade 0, with much excitement he joined in with all the party games and festivities. During the party a DJ was playing music and to Steve's amazement, Sean assertively marched onto the stage, took hold of the mic and proceeded to belt out "You're Beautiful". One of those times where the handy camera would have come in handy if it were on hand :-( Astonishment sounded throughout the attending parents and the wh...

Doha's Active Winter Months

Image
January was a flutter of activity for us, we were flung back into the swing of routine far too quickly and the running around began once again.  New Years resolutions were left spinning in confusion and life proceeded between rushing from work to children duties all over again.  That is Federer on the left Two realisations struck me, or was it that tennis ball to the head!  Winter is the most amazing time in  Qatar  and you actually don't want to stop to take a breath, just in case you miss out!  This month saw us going to the Qatar ExxonMobil Men's Open Tennis Champs, The Vienna Boy's Choir, a UK Boarding School Seminar, Qatar International Falcon Competition, the Qatar Motor Show, lunches with friends and heading off to Abu Dhabi to  Ferrari World  for a weekend to celebrate Steve's birthday.   Ferrari World Happy Birthday my wonderful husband, who continues to spoil his family every day wit...

Late.....

Image
I am late , it does not matter how hard I try I am always  LATE . As a general rule now I consider it fashionable and consider it lucky to get anywhere at all . I put it down to my birth, I was late being born, a late walker, a late talker, a late bloomer, I even had my kids later on in life and even they were late , born well passed their due dates. I put it all down to genetics! Mom and Dad with their troop of Grandkids minus 2 My point is, that it is the new year and with January 1 comes New Year Resolutions....mine were to slow my life down, to take time to organize and be prepared for everything, to relax more and lastly to update my personal blog more frequently....as you can see I am late ! Fashionably late I will fill you in on January in February and so forth for the rest of the year. Just in case you didn't get that I will always be  late.  So before I go enthralling you all with January, let me tell you of our emotionally roller coasted December ...
